Before you move your books
- Is Sarabooks ready for LHDN MyInvois e-invoicing?
- Yes. Every sales invoice can be submitted to the LHDN MyInvois system from inside Sarabooks, and the validation result is kept with the invoice. You enter your MyInvois client credentials once under company settings. Since 1 July 2026 e-invoicing applies to Malaysian businesses with annual turnover above RM500,000; check the LHDN e-Invoice guideline for your own case.
- Do I need to know double-entry accounting to use it?
- No. You raise invoices, bills, receipts and payments on ordinary forms. Sarabooks writes the journal entry for you and shows it on the document, so your accountant sees proper debits and credits without you having to think in them.
- Can I switch from Biztrak, SQL Account or AutoCount?
- Yes. Sarabooks follows the same method those desktop systems use: query-criteria lists, result grids with grand totals, drill-down from account to ledger to journal to document, and fiscal periods you open and close. During your trial we work with you to bring across your chart of accounts, contacts, items and opening balances.
- What happens when the 30-day free trial ends?
- Nothing is deleted. Your company stays as it is and you choose a plan from Settings, Plan and billing. We confirm by email and arrange payment; the plan switches the moment it is approved. There is no card to enter during the trial.
- Is the external accountant seat really free?
- Yes. On every plan, one user with the Accountant role does not count against your seats. Invite your accounting firm and they log in to the same live books instead of asking you for backup files.
- Where is my data stored and who can see it?
- Your books live in a Postgres database hosted on AWS in Singapore (ap-southeast-1). Every company is isolated by database row-level security, posted journals are immutable, and an append-only audit trail records who did what and when. Only the people you invite can open your company.
- Can I run more than one company?
- Yes. Each company is its own subscription with its own plan, chart of accounts and fiscal calendar. You switch between them from one login, the same way you would pick a company file in a desktop system.
- Do the prices include SST?
- No. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit per company per month, and service tax is added where it applies. Yearly billing is ten months for twelve. Enterprise starts from RM249 a month and is quoted per contract.
